VIVE Arts Launches New Global Art Trading Platform
VIVE Arts is delighted to announce a new global art trading platform for the art and culture sector, which will launch to the public today, Thursday 9 December. The platform will mark the next stage in VIVE Arts evolution, as it harnesses the latest technologies to build a complete ecosystem for digital art, supporting artists and institutions to create, exhibit and sell ground-breaking artworks and experiences, reaching global audiences both physically and online. The inaugural sale will take place on Friday 17 December and will offer NFTs of iconic Art Nouveau masterpieces by renowned Czech artist Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939), as part of a major collaboration with the Mucha Foundation. The sale, Timeless Mucha, will coincide with opening of the exhibition Mucha to Manga – The Magic of the Line in Taipei, organised by the Mucha Foundation, and new NFT series will drop monthly throughout the duration of the exhibition, concluding with a special auction.
The platform is available to view through the VIVE Arts website and will offer a preview of the inaugural sale, which will go live on Friday 17 December. The sale, Timeless Mucha, is part of a major collaboration between the Mucha Foundation and VIVE Arts, which will offer an exciting new way for audiences around the world to discover the artistic work of Art Nouveau pioneer Alphonse Mucha and to engage with the Mucha Foundation and the Mucha Family Collection. The first NFT drop will include editions of 2, 10 and 30 of some of Alphonse Mucha’s best loved images: La Dame aux Camelias, Reverie and the series of decorative panels The Arts: Painting, Poetry, Dance and Music.
The final sale will take place in April 2022, with a special two-week auction, which will commemorate the 110th anniversary of the completion of the first three paintings of Mucha’s monumental series The Slav Epic in 1912, which were gifted to the City of Prague that year. Two NFTs have been created of Slav Epic VR (2019), an immersive VR work of art, commissioned by the Mucha Foundation and VIVE Arts and created by award winning digital studio Nexus Studios.
In addition to the Timeless Mucha sale, the platform will also showcase the artists who are currently in the process of developing NFT works with VIVE Arts, including renowned video artist Marco Brambilla, new media artist Nancy Baker Cahill, London and Berlin based art collective Keiken, contemporary artist Carola Bonfili, interdisciplinary male soprano artist JU-EH, London-based moving image artist Suki Chan, new media artist Musquiqui Chihying, contemporary artists Elliot Dodd, Ted Lawson and more.
