Imagine being able to witness history first-hand. Berlin Wall: The Virtual Reality Experience makes it possible to do just that, recreating the Berlin Wall and inviting viewers to attempt the dangerous crossing from the city’s communist East to the West.
Taking viewers on an adventure that brings history to life, this virtual reality experience is an educational narrative produced by the Newseum, Washington D.C., in partnership with HTC VIVE. It accompanies eight 12-foot-high concrete sections of the original Berlin Wall— the largest display of unaltered portions of the wall outside of Germany—along with an original East Berlin guard tower, which are on permanent exhibit at the Newseum. The wall is the first of several artefacts in the museum’s collection brought to life through VR.
